Arkansas Fallen Firefighters' Memorial Ground Breaking Ceremony

Today I went with Firefighter Dayna to the ground-breaking for the Arkansas Fallen Firefighters' MemorialI was very honored to be a part of this very special day.

A drawing of what the memorial will look like.

In the Safety Mobile and ready to go! Let's go, Mom!

Safety Mobile all washed and ready to go to Little Rock.

It was my first time to sit in the back seat. Mom
let me put my head on her shoulder. So comfy!

I enjoyed seeing all the fire trucks! This one
was from the Little Rock Fire Department.

Thanks to the Little Rock Color Guard for
letting me pose with them for a picture!

Arkansas is the state where I live. We are very
proud of our firefighters and the work they
do to help keep people and property safe.

Watching people at the groundbreaking ceremony. I was
very honored when three people asked me to help them.

It was very cold and rainy, but you know what?
No one complained, not even me. It was a
day everyone wouldn't have missed for anything.

Posing with Arkansas Attorney General Dustin McDaniel.
Mr. McDaniel is a huge supporter of the fire
service, and even helped Firefighter Dayna and the
firefighters in Arkansas help ban novelty lighters in the state.

These are my new friends, Mr. and Mrs. Brooks Jackson.
I loved meeting them and hanging out with them
during the ceremony. Mr. Jackson took me with
him when he went up to help break ground.

Watching the ceremony.

I was so honored when KTHV's Tom Brannon
asked me to help him when it was his time
to help break ground. Mr. Jackson was
so nice to go up there with me!

Many people got to help during the ground-breaking
ceremony. It has taken so many people working
many hours to help make the Arkansas Fallen
Firefighters' Memorial a reality. The memorial
will be dedicated on October 26th and I will be there!

This is Johnny Deep. Johnny worked really
hard to help make the memorial a reality!
I gave him kisses for working so hard!

I loved listening to the Pipes and Drums!

You can see more pictures of the ceremony on the KTHV website and watch the KTHV video HERE. Look close for a white dog with black spots. : )

Until next time, stay safe! And, remember: FIRE SAFETY ROCKS!

A very Special Video from Odrija, 8, from Riga, Latvia!

Riga, Latvia
We received this wonderful video from our new friend, Odrija. Odrija is 8 years old and from Latvia. For those of you that may not know (we are just learning too!) Latvia is a country in Europe and the capitol of it is Riga. It is an ancient Baltic country and is officially called the Republic of Latvia.

Odrija's teacher, Ms.Gvozdeva, shared with us that Odrija was inspired to make this video after watching a video of Molly doing her trick with her three colored balls (I have three balls: one red, one blue and one green, and when asked to get a certain colored ball, I go get it!)

We started a new Skype program that we have taken international and each week we have set aside Thursdays to Skype with other countries! We will be Skyping with Odrija's class in April!

Piper is a special needs, somewhat handicapped (handicapable) rescue dog who makes a difference through paint. She is an example of how anyone has the ability to inspire create and be good at something when given love and encouragement.

Piper is listed on MSN as one of the 15 most influential dogs of 2012. She appeared on the TV Show Texas Country Reporter, KXAN news with Reporter Jim Swift, Dog Cast Radio, We Are Austin Live, and YNN News. Piper is featured in American Dog Magazine's 2012 Summer issue for being a dog with a job.

Thank you, Piper, to you, and your human, Jessica! We are truly grateful!

Thank you GLOGIRLY DESIGN!

Thanks to GLOGIRLY DESIGN, our blog is getting a brand new look!

We are so excited and we think the design is purfect!

Today I got to help Firefighter Dayna with the blog. My job was to chase the little arrow that appears on the computer screen. I didn't catch it, but I sure did entertain Firefighter Dayna! That in itself was big fun!

Thanks to Debbie Glovatsky for reading Firefighter Dayna's mind and bringing to life her vision for our blog!
