The Kindness of Others

Can anyone help me please?

I am in Omaha until March the 9th helping Firefighter Dayna with fire safety projects. While I am here, I have so much fun energy that I would love to go to PetSmart to their day camp to play with all my friends, socialize and get out of having to sit at the gallery (filled with glass and other pretties) while she works on her projects.

I'm looking for a few friends to help sponsor my play day at the day camp as Mom can't afford to send me, although she would love to!

Thanks to my friend, Karen Luling, I have tomorrow covered! Woot, woot, Karen and THANK YOU! Now I have: Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and Monday through Saturday of the following week!

The cost of the day camp is $20 a day and I would go in at 7 am and leave at 9 pm. That is a lot of fun and better than sitting around watching Firefighter Dayna work. lol.

Your donation would be tax deductible and we would make you a video to thank you that we would post right her on my page! We would also take a picture of my day at day camp!

If you would like to help, please visit http://www.keepkidsfiresafe.org to make your donation today.

We have today covered and I would love to go back tomorrow!

Big Day in Hastings, Nebraska!

Yesterday I went to Hastings, Nebraska to visit the boys and girls at Children's Ark Daycare!

Firefighter Dayna read our children's book, Sparkles the Fire Safety Dog,"we talked about fire safety, sang songs and had fun!

We reached 79 children and we were so happy to visit them!

Thanks to our friend, Vicki, for getting it set up for us!

I stopped by the Children's Museum of Central Nebraska in Hastings. My new friend, Stacy, told me about it!

I loved it there! They even had a firefighting section!

Thanks to Deb for the tour and letting me play!

If you are ever in Hastings, check it out!

The Firefighter Section!

They have all sorts of things to play with!

It was fun to pretend!

You can pretend that you are a firefighter and helping put out a fire!

They have pretend firefighter gear that you can wear!

Next, I went to the Hastings Fire Department. I had a pawmazing time!

Before we left, we gave their Pub Ed Officer, Linda Waldron, a copy of the book, Sparkles the Fire Safety Dog for their department's resource library from the Keep Kids Fire Safe Foundation! She is going to use the book so that it will help keep children safe!

Fire Safety Presentation at Children's Ark Child Daycare in Hasting's Nebraska Tomorrow!

As you may recall, I am in Omaha, Nebraska, visiting my Grandma and Grandpaw. While I am here, I am going to be making three fire safety presentations (one in Hastings and two in Lincoln) and I am so excited!

The first one is at the Children's Ark Child Daycare in Hasting, Nebraska. Tomorrow, Firefighter Dayna and I will be getting in the SpotMobile and driving three hours to Hastings to see all the boys and girls. I can hardly wait!

Stay safe! And, remember: Fire Safety Rocks!

Photo Shoot with Avalon

My friend, Avalon, and I had some photos made for an upcoming fire safety campaign and boy, did we ever have fun!

The photos were made in downtown Springfield, Nebraska (Population 1,500) and we had the best time ever!

Avalon is from Nashville, Tennessee and I was so excited that she came all the way to Nebraska (where I am the next couple of weeks) to have her photo made.

See the spotted hat? My Grandma made the hat! She makes all sorts of hats and I was so excited that it looked so good on Avalon.

Wait until you see what we have planned! It is going to be so exciting!

Stay safe! And, remember: Fire Safety Rocks!

Valentine's Day Fire Safety Tips!

The other day, Firefighter Dayna and I spent some time out in the clubhouse taking pictures for Valentine's Day.

We had SO MUCH FUN! We couldn't decide which picture to use so we decided to share them all!

For all the grown-ups out there, be sure to help keep your children and your pets safe on this special day!

Since grown-ups like to use candles, I thought I'd share some very important candle safety tips.

Did you know that, according to statistics, there are over 15,260 home candle fires each year? That's a lot!

Here are some tips!

  • Consider using battery-operated or electric flameless candles and fragrance warmers, which can look, smell and feel like real candles – without the flame.
  • If you do use candles, ensure they are in sturdy metal, glass or ceramic holders and placed where they cannot be easily knocked down.
  • Avoid using candles in bedrooms and sleeping areas.
  • Extinguish candles after use and before going to bed
  • Keep candles at least 12 inches away from anything that can burn
  • Keep candles out of reach from children and pets

Please be sure to follow me on Facebook! I would love to be your friend!

Happy Valentine's Day, stay safe, and remember: Fire Safety Rocks!

Spending the Day with Grandma and Grandpaw

I'm so excited!

I'm spending the afternoon with Momma at my Grandma and Grandpaw's place, Springfield ArtWorks in Springfield, Nebraska.

Grandma is getting ready to do Omaha Fashion Week and I'm going to help her get ready for her big day! She is a hat designer. Wait until you see some of the beautiful hats she has made! We will be sure to take lots of pictures

I'm chillin' in the back room of my grandparent's gallery, Springfield Artworks. The building is 130 years old and is thought to be the oldest "inside mall" in America. The buildings are no longer connected by doorways on the inside, and are now separate. Isn't that cool?

The floor that I'm lying on is 107 years old!

The UK was in the House!

Today we did our fire safety Skype program with 30 students and one adult from Norbridge Academy in the United Kingdom!

I was really excited to hear that they have many of the same fire safety tips that we do here in the United States!

We had an amazing time! At the end, we even made them United States Junior Firefighters! How cool is that?!?!

We barely made it out to the clubhouse this morning. It is very cold here and we have freezing rain. Fortunately, we made it out to the clubhouse okay. Getting back to the house will be another whole situation altogether. BOL

The Keep Kids Fire Safe™ Foundation would like to thank our corporate partners, First Alert and State Farm. Without their funding and the funding of donors like you, we would be unable to do this life-saving program!

Another big thank you to Skype in the classroom for all they do to help support our program by sharing it with teachers all over the world!

Learn more about the Fire Safety Dog Skype Program HERE. Our program is free of charge to schools and organizations!
